There are five components of pathology involved in the ultimate end result. 1.uncontrolled DM - This leads to more undermined pathologies and lipid profile derangement leading to PVD. 2.Diabetic Neuropathy- sensation lost leading to easy injury and the sequelae. 3.Peripheral vascular disease which produces gangrene and leading to amputation of various permutations and combinations.
4.Bone involvement - a major point which decides the amputation but can be managed effectively by cyclical antibiotics for three months duration. 5.
