Clostridium difficile infection is the major cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and colitis with an ever-increasing prevalence in India. Recently ICMR has released the recommendations related to the first-line and alternative treatment options for C. difficile Colitis based on the disease severity and frequency. Antibiotics mostly associated with C. difficile infections are Fluroquinolones, Clindamycin, Penicillins (Broad spectrum), Cephalosporins (Broad spectrum).
