Presenting complaints: A 12-year-old boy presented to the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry with complaints of pain and swelling in the left maxillary posterior region for four days. The pain was persistent for four months; however, it was moderate. The pain would aggravate while bending the head and chewing food. Medical history: The patient was negative for fever, paraesthesia, purulent discharge, and foul oral odor. The patient has had diabetes for the last three years.
Medication history: The patient was on treatment for diabetes. He was taking ayurvedic/herbal medications along with allopathic medications. Extraoral examination: The test revealed a diffused swelling on the left side of the face measuring 4 x 4 inches. The swelling extended superiorly from the supraorbital margin.
