Case presentation A 24-year-old woman presented with mild facial asymmetry. She had noticed a “bump” involving the left maxillary buccal alveolar process approximately six weeks ago. She reported dull pain, pressure, and discomfort, gradually developing over the past four weeks. She complained of sensitivity to aspirin and tobacco smoke.

There was no history of trauma to the area and no recent dental treatment other than the placement of routine amalgam restorations in the affected quadrant.
