Disease activity assessment in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is essential for monitoring disease progression, guiding treatment decisions, and evaluating therapeutic response. Since SLE is a multisystem autoimmune disease with variable clinical manifestations, standardized assessment tools are used to quantify disease activity and organ involvement. Commonly used instruments include the SLE Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI), British Isles Lupus Assessment Group (BILAG) index, Physician Global Assessment (PGA), and Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) damage index.
