A year-long randomized study in adults found that those using sweeteners and sweetness enhancers (S&SEs) as part of a weight-loss strategy maintained slightly greater weight loss than those avoiding S&SEs, without worsening cardiometabolic risk markers. Participants in the S&SE group showed a more favorable gut microbiota profile, including higher levels of short-chain fatty acid– and methane-producing bacteria, suggesting potential benefits for metabolic health. Although self-reported gastrointestinal adverse effects were more common with S&SE use and causality could not be firmly established, the overall data indicate that S&SEs can support weight control with neutral cardiometabolic impact when used appropriately. To read more Click Here ##Reference## Greenhill C.
