What amazes me is the double standards people have when treating doctors. When they talk about the medical profession in general, many people feel doctors are crooks. They believe the medical profession has become commercialized and doctors just want to make money. They no longer believe doctors have a service ethic, and they yearn for the mythical doctor of yore - the family doctor who would always be available 24/7; who made house calls; who would charge a pittance ; and do whatever was needed to make sure you got better.
They feel doctors today are out to pursue money . They are painted as greedy businessmen who are more interested in making a quick buck at the expense of their patients , and this is why they can't be trusted any more.
