Systematic and detailed map of cell types in the nervous system of a mouse has been identified by researchers at Karolinska Institute, Sweden. Around 265 different types of cells and 200 different types of neurons have been identified.

Further researchers found that knowing cell type can assist in understanding the origin of different diseases like schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis or autism. The study is presented in the Journal Cell.
