Many studies have reported drug-induced gynecomastia in patients. This article reviews the drugs that have been implicated by the scientific literature for inducing gynecomastia. The genesis of gynecomastia, the clinical presentation or symptoms, and the hormonal level vary in every case, and hence it is recommended to perform a drug surveillance to reduce such incidents. Gynecomastia is defined as the presence of palpable, subareolar breast tissue with a diameter of 2 cm or greater.
Generally, it is asymptomatic, however highly prevalent in obese and aging population.
