Routine drugs used by doctors for suppressing Lactation are Cabergoline Or Bromocriptine . A female patient aged 26 yrs presented to me asking for suppressing her Lactation . Her baby was 17 months old , and hence she came for treatment. She gave a history of the missed periods a previous month. Suspecting her to be pregnant , l asked for routine urine pregnancy test . She was positive for pregnancy.
She wants to continue her pregnancy. Both Cabergoline and Bromocriptine are contraindicated in pregnancy. I have asked her to stop breastfeeding and eventually it will stop , and frequent manual expression to decrease the pain. What do l suggest her ? Could any gynecologists opine further ?
