Synopsis: Preterm delivery is considered as a major concern for developing countries with low to the middle economy. Preterm birth (PTB) is not only associated with higher rates of neonatal morbidity and mortality but also exerts severe health consequences in the mother and children. In-spite of preventive treatments such as progesterone supplements, tocolytic drugs like betamimetics, oxytocin antagonists, calcium-channel blockers, and prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors, preterm birth remains a major burden on healthcare systems. Thus, several meta-analysis and systemic reviews propose that aspirin in low doses started at an initial gestational period can be substantially used to reduce the rate of PTBs.
