The correlation between tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte levels in breast cancer tissue and the risk of cancer recurrence and mortality in patients with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who did not undergo adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy remains uncertain. Therefore, a retrospective pooled analysis involving 1966 TNBC patients who underwent surgery with or without radiotherapy but no adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy was conducted.
Study results showed that breast cancer tissue with elevated levels of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes was associated with significantly better survival outcomes in patients with early-stage TNBC who did not undergo chemotherapy.
