Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure designed to treat nasolacrimal duct obstruction, commonly leading to chronic dacryocystitis and epiphora. This technique involves creating a direct opening between the lacrimal sac and the nasal cavity to facilitate tear drainage, bypassing the obstructed duct. Utilizing an endoscope enhances visualization and access and minimizes postoperative scarring and recovery time. Endoscopic DCR has shown high success rates and is increasingly preferred for its efficacy and reduced morbidity compared to traditional external approaches.
