Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) uses 100% oxygen in a pressurized environment to accelerate healing. HBOT is used to treat wounds, preoperative swelling, anemia, head and spinal cord trauma, and pancreatitis. However, it is contraindicated for patients with seizure disorders, pneumo-thorax, and high fevers or patients receiving certain medications like chemotherapy or opioids.
