The MOHFW has recently issued National Guidelines that provide details about the procedures to be followed for the safety of dentists, auxiliary staff, and patients while visiting dental clinics during the pandemic. These guidelines should be followed in dental clinics in the government and private sector and dental colleges amid the ongoing pandemic. However, these guidelines are not meant for clinics in the containment zone, as such clinics can continue operating only via tele triage. Key focus areas of the guidelines: A. Appointments Allot sufficient time per patient and time in-between patients Appoint vulnerable patients or patients with complications at a separate time or early morning slots Walk-ins should be discouraged.
