The Drugs Controller General of India gave permission for conducting Phase-1 clinical trial for antisera obtained by injecting horses with inactivated SARS-CoV-2. The antisera have been developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with a Hyderabad-based bio-pharmaceutical firm and are believed to be a potential treatment for COVID-19. Antisera is blood serum high in antibodies against specific antigens having prophylactic or therapeutic potential when injected into infected persons.
