Pregnancy-related infections are one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide. Chlamydia trachomatis, a sexually transmitted pathogen, is a significant contributor of pregnancy-related infection with perinatal and neonatal complications. Antibiotics are used to prevent and treat Chlamydia infections. However, the misuse of antibiotics is a serious problem for global health.This article compares the efficacy and tolerability of erythromycin with amoxicillin in the management of Chlamydia infection in pregnant women.
