Dr. Anand Krishnan is working as a Professor, Centre for Community Medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi. Currently, he has been sanctioned research proposal worth 15 Crores including CDC funded Pneumonia Research Platform. The burden of Noncommunicable diseases is expected to increase unless massive efforts are made to prevent and control NCDs.
Although new programs are initiated, there has not been any considerable change in the burden of NCDs. As a result, there is a need to emphasize on health promotion and preventive measures to reduce exposure to risk factors.
