In neurology OPD of government hospital Amritsar, the only one doctor working there found that on 5 to 6 genuine OPD slips of patients, expensive tests, costly medicines were written and to one patient medical certificate was also given by some unknown person. This all came to limelight when patient reported for the second visit to doctor of the ward. Patients were innocent who could not tell who has written their prescription but were in an impression that it must be by some doctor. All this happened midway from OPD slip counter to neurology ward for sake of taking heavy commission from chemists and clinical labs.
If this is not discovered then for all such acts, a doctor will be held responsible. This is defaming medical profession for no cause of doctors. Is there any way to prevent such unethical practice? Kindly share.
