Metatarsal fractures are the most frequently encountered injuries of the foot. Approximately 5-6% of fractures in the primary care setting are metatarsal fractures. The management of these fractures generally depends upon the classification and nature of the fracture. The current article focuses on the surgical management of these fractures.
