A 14-year-old male was presented with tender, itchy feet. He has been having persistent itchiness of his toes, particularly between the fourth and fifth toes for the last week. He has been otherwise healthy, and even boasts that he is playing for the football team. Physical Exam: VS T 37.0, P 74, R 12, BP 118/64. Ht/Wt at the 50th percentile. The patient is alert, active and in no distress. His physical exam is unremarkable except for his feet. The toes on both feet are inflamed and some scaling of the skin is noted.
The interdigital space, between the fourth and fifth toes, appears to be the most affected. There is some cracking and thickening of the anterior plantar surfaces. What can be the diagnosis?
