Introduction: Neurology diagnostic studies frequently make use of contrast agents for imaging. Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are highly used for magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) due to its well-proven efficacy and safety profile. But the use of these agents is associated with issues like the risk of nephrogenic fibrosis and the risk of gadolinium deposition and retention. Recent technological advances have made MRIs to omit the use of GBCAs. The French Society of Neuroradiology (SFNR) has published the clinical practice guidelines on the use of g adolinium-based contrast agents and the advancements in MRI protocols .
