Bronchiectasis is a chronic and heterogeneous respiratory disease characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms, recurrent exacerbations, airway infection, and progressive disease burden. Current management increasingly focuses not only on treating acute exacerbations but also on identifying underlying causes, reducing future exacerbation risk, improving airway clearance, addressing treatable traits, and preventing disease progression. Recent international guidance emphasizes personalized risk assessment and evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies.
