Research on endocrine disruptors (EDs) has surged globally, with the USA and China leading publications, revealing a concerning increase in environmental exposure linked to neurological and endocrine disorders. Despite growing awareness, a significant North-South divide exists in research output, with low- and middle-income countries underrepresented. Plastic waste generation correlates with ED research activity, emphasizing environmental contamination's role. This multidisciplinary field is expanding, focusing increasingly on ecological impacts, highlighting the urgent need for global collaboration, regulation, and public education to mitigate health risks.
