The Jammu & Kashmir Government has ordered to stop salaries of all doctors who are occupying positions beyond the sanctioned strength in health institutions. This action comes after the government observed that many doctors were avoiding rural postings by staying on some administrative position. A circular was issued in this regard stating that no salary would be paid to such doctors.
Also, in cases where two or more persons have been posted against one sanctioned post, the doctor who has stayed longer should be transferred out if he/she has completed 2 years tenure. Source: Kashmir Reader Do you think such actions are justified against doctors who avoid rural postings?
