Preterm Prelabor Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) leads to significant neonatal mortality or morbidity although it may complicate only 2% of preterm pregnancies. This article provides a brief synopsis of what is included in the PPROM management guideline provided by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The neonatal death associated with PPROM is attributed to pulmonary hypoplasia, sepsis, and prematurity. Sepsis occurs due to bacterial infections.
