OMAN Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or childhood autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by a lack of social communication and restricted, repetitive behavior and activities . The symptoms of ASD usually develop at around three years of age , but parental concerns may begin much earlier. The prevalence of childhood autism among Omani children has increased by 15 folds since the estimates from 2011 and is currently estimated to be 20.35 per 10,000 children .

Its early identification and timely intervention are crucial for the overall mental and social development of the affected children.
