Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the Health Ministry has issued an advisory for dental services by restricting it to the emergency procedures only. According to the recent advisory, all dental clinics in containment zones will remain closed and provide teleconsultation. The patients in such zones can seek ambulance facilities to travel to a nearby dental clinic. Any emergency procedures should be undertaken only after teleconsultation and pre-fixed appointments.
Routine and elective surgery procedures should be deferred until new policies/guidelines are issued by regulatory bodies. Additionally, under the National Cancer Screening Programme, the government has also deferred oral cancer and cavity screening procedures.
