A 24-year-old woman presented with focal thoracolumbar pain following a high-speed motor accident. She had been a rear passenger, restrained by wearing a seat belt. The patient was neurologically intact and only complained of severe abdominal pain.

The patient reported no prior history of spinal complaints. Plain radiographs and lateral MRI demonstrated a flexion-distraction injury of T12-L1. Source: Spine Universe
