A motorcycle accident can result in several injuries, including head-leading collisions, direct vertical impact, motorcycle radius, motorcycle thumb, fuel tank injures, limb entrapment, tire-spoke injury, and crash modifying maneuver. Limb entrapment often results in pelvic, tibial, ankle, and foot injuries. These include hyperdorsiflexion, external rotation injury, and dislocation fractures of the foot and ankle. Fuel tank injuries result from the forward thrust of the rider on the vehicle’s fuel tank, resulting in pelvic and bladder injuries. High velocity can significantly dislocate the anterior and posterior pelvis, resembling anterior-posterior compression types 2 and 3 pelvic fractures.
