The Ipas Development Foundation (IDF), India, has conducted a groundbreaking nationwide survey to assess public opinion on abortion rights in India. The study revealed that while 72% of respondents support abortion, only 29% believe that women should be the primary decision-makers. It also found significant variations in attitudes across demographics, with support for abortion among unmarried women being lower (62%).

Younger adults and men, in particular, showed less support compared to women.
