The endothelial glycocalyx is a pericellular matrix made up of glycoproteins, proteoglycans, and glycolipids that respond to changes in blood flow and play an essential role in mechanotransduction. The venous and lymphatic systems are well interconnected, the study of which can help in better treatment prospects for lymphatic disorders. This will become more precise if glycocalyx units are spotted in human lymphatic tissues.
