In a landmark step toward healthcare digitization, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that every Indian citizen will receive a Digital Health ID by mid-2026. This initiative, part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), aims to create a unified health record system accessible across hospitals, clinics, and labs nationwide. The unique 14-digit Health ID will store key medical information such as prescriptions, diagnostic reports, and hospital visits, which can be securely shared with healthcare providers after patient consent.
