Cushing syndrome is a hormonal disorder that is characterized by higher levels of the hormone cortisol in the body. This case study presents a case of Cushing syndrome in an infant due to unsupervised long-term use of topical corticosteroids. Patient profile Age: 1 year 2 months Gender: Male First child, normal full-term delivery Birth weight: 3.19 kg, Birth height: 49 cm History At three months of age, the patient encountered scalp and perineal dermatitis. The treatment given was hydrocortisone acetate 1% cream with clotrimazole.

On improvement in clinical conditions, betamethasone dipropionate 0.05% cream was prescribed. The treatment was continued for ten months without the advice of pediatrician.
