Persistent diabetic macular edema (P-DME), a challenging manifestation of diabetic retinopathy unresponsive to conventional anti-VEGF therapy, lacks standardized management strategies; however, newer agents may offer improved outcomes. To address this gap, a real-world study evaluated the anatomical and functional outcomes of intravitreal brolucizumab 6 mg/0.05 ml in 13 patients, mean age of 64.4 years, with chronic P-DME. The study found that eyes treated with intravitreal brolucizumab showed a significant improvement in visual acuity (VA), with median VA increasing from 0.40 logMAR (20/50) to 0.35 logMAR (20/44) after a mean follow-up of 13 weeks.
