Generally, topical corticosteroids and antibiotics are widely used for the treatment of oral ulcers and but the effectiveness of topical treatments has not been studied in detail. Some studies have reported that topical hyaluronic acid (HA) was effective in aphthous ulceration, lichen planus, and Behçet's disease. These reports suggest that HA significantly improved healing period, VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) for pain and assessments such as number of ulcers, area of ulcers, inflammatory signs, etc. What is your opinion regarding efficacy of topical hyaluronic acid for oral ulcers?
