The medical profession in the current scenario needs drastic changes. The assault on doctors and consumer court judgements are a cause for concern. The doctors who were once considered to be at the top are being treated like class three staff ( Clerks). They are supposed to work like semi-skilled person. Recently court has given directions to MCI to start B.Sc community medicine course immediately and IMA is opposing it.
I fully agree with the argument regarding step taken for motherly treatment being given to rural people. But I think, let MCI start this course and let us produce more of these Community medicine paramedics. We can suggest a suitable nomenclature for these graduates if they should not be called as doctors. But I will suggest let us call them Junior doctors.
