Linagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor molecule developed to treat T2DM. Linagliptin is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.
The molecule can be exclusively used to treat T2Dm and is not at all indicated for Type 1 diabetes mellitus. There is an inadequate data of its use with insulin therapy.
