This article reports the study on 250 Indian children with mild-to-moderate asthma to determine whether allergic rhinitis and sinusitis are one of the contributing factors. Study Background The epidemiological association among asthma, rhinitis, and sinusitis have been observed since a long time. However, most of the studies have been performed in the western countries. Such studies have involved children from the different ethnicity, where the incidence of atopy and allergic conditions are high.

Children from western countries usually present high intrinsic type of asthma which is different from an extrinsic type of asthma commonly noticed in Indian children.
