Last week a patient visited me in my OPD who was around 65 years with a good gener al condition. Apparently he had no complaints. It appeared to me that it was his family members who pursued him to visit us. HIs notes showed that he had been a diagnosed case of periampullary carcinoma (biopsy proven grade 2 adenocarcinoma) has undergone ERCP with stenting and stent changes thrice. On general examination, he neither had any jaundice nor had any significant finding.
He was offered surgery at some centre outside, however he denied surgery.in the intervening 7 years he has taken only homeopathic medications. I was astonished to find out in his next visit that he did not have any metastatic disease in spite of no surgery. Has anyone experienced a similar case? If yes, please explain.
