During our medical training we learn to use the EVIDENCE BASED MEDICINE in treating our patients. This means using the most up to date scientific research data that has been analysed, verified and accepted as fact. But this is only ‘half’ of the entire process of medical practice. As we come to clinical side and see patients’ problems face to face. We come to realise that many a times our patients do not fall into the evidence based categories that we have learnt. Furthermore, it seems incomplete.
Here, comes the use of art of medicine. The ART OF MEDICINE is the ‘other half’ of the medical practice. Both halves are equally important and are complementary to each other.
