Jeopardizing the future of a batch of 20 students, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has derecognized additional 20 MBBS seats in a known Medical College in Ludhiana. The executive committee of the MCI took note of the compliance verification assessment reports of 2013, 2014 and 2015 and noted many discrepancies. It found shortage of resident doctors at 8.57% and there were no normal deliveries on the day of assessment. The report of the MCI pointed out the absence of students' laboratory in the pathology department. The autopsy room of the forensic department is being shared with pathology department.
