Morton’s neuroma is the most common condition mainly affecting middle-aged women. It typically affects common digital nerve and its branches in the third planter web space. The current article provides a quick treatment algorithm for the management of Morton’s Neuroma. Morton’s neuroma is generally diagnosed by thorough history taking and clinical examination which may be aided by ultrasonography scans and magnetic resonance imaging.
The MRI examination in this condition reveals a mass with low signal intensity and can be distinguished from other soft-tissue masses with a high signal intensity. The ultrasonography scans mainly to show an ovoid hypoechoic mass parallel to the long axis of the metatarsal, and are more accurate when the lesion measures more than 5 mm.
