Multimorbidity affects nearly 40% of adults globally and up to 72.7% of patients in primary care in Portugal, presenting a growing challenge for family physicians. A recent cross-sectional study of 102 Portuguese family physicians assessed self-efficacy in managing multimorbidity, revealing that while 67.6% felt highly confident, physician burden, trainee status, and social factors like marital status significantly lowered confidence.
