Healthcare professionals in our country have had to rely on expensive training courses other countries provide. The limited availability of courses for managing emergencies, especially in the Indian context , and the need for standardization of skills to handle all kinds of medical emergencies (including COVID-19 and such crises) call for a unified Indian program created specifically for HCPs. To address these challenges, the Government of India has launched the National Emergency Life Support (NELS) courses offering a wide range of hands-on training to manage medical, surgical, cardiac, respiratory, obstetric, pediatric, common, and even COVID-19-related emergencies.
