I came across a baby patient, mother hypo on treatment wit throxine, after 72 HOL we sent thyroid prof in which TSH was 17 with normal T3 T4, no other features of hypotbyroidsm in baby with wt of 3.7kg. No prolonged jaundice, infact it is in physiology range, meconium pased, no coarse features, except wide AF, no significant family history. I ordered for free T3 T4 and TSH after 10 days. Even to think the elevation of TSH initialy to transient he is not preterm.
Is it transient hypothyroidism? What if in next report also only TSH is elevated with normal T3 T4. Please share your experiences.
