Nerve entrapment syndromes (NES) are caused by direct pressure on peripheral nerves, joint overuse, microtrauma, or stretch, resulting in compression and displacement of peripheral nerves. Paresthesia, numbness, and progressive muscle weakness and wasting are clinical presentations of NES. Electromyography, MRI, and ultrasonography can be used to diagnose NES. Based on the etiology and severity, NES can be treated conservatively or surgically.
