A recent study conducted by the researchers claimed that the patients with non-metastatic adenocarcinomas of the gastroesophageal transition (AEG) can have a better prognosis if their tumour cells produce the signal molecule ‘PD-L1’ . Tumors that develop at the transition of the stomach to the oesophagus are called as adenocarcinomas of the gastroesophageal transition (AEG). They are difficult to treat and the recovery chances are also very low. Therefore, the research was carried out at the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of MedUni Vienna and AKH Vienna and has been published in the journal ‘ OncoImmunology’.
