Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is malignant cancer accounting for 85% of all lung cancer cases. Over half of people diagnosed with NSCLC die within one year of diagnosis and the 5-year survival is less than 18%. Understanding the need to address this topic, this article outlines current treatment guidelines for early stage (I-II) of NSCLC. Depending on the staging of lung NSCLC, patients are eligible for treatments ranging from surgery to radiation to chemotherapy.
