Scientists have determined a drug that could treat people with genetic obesity by inhibiting their appetite and resulting in the decrease in weight of the person. About 2 to 6% of the people with obesity have mutations in one of their ‘appetite genes’. It gives a strong genetic predisposition for developing obesity, also known as monogenic obesity. In this case, feeling of hunger is overruling and of satiety is limited.
